Hmm. I read the Marx Sisters and the one about the shopping mall and didn't find them hardboiled. (I noted that the author's an Australian architect and that each of these police proceduals focuses on a chunk of architecture. I rated them OK but am not adding the series to Mount TBR.) Has he written other books that are more HB?
