there. Seriously, Ellroy's "The Big Nowhere" comes to mind,
as does "Kem Nunn's, "Pomona Queen." The Bill Moody books
deal with a slightly older crowd and the sex is very tame,
but his world is jazz clubs where drugs and sex abound.
