The Fletch books are very uneven. The first wasn't bad. I
don't remember which, either Fletch Won or Fletch Too, I
think is by far the best. The other is not good, but I don't
want to reread now to find which is th good one.
BTW, I thought his Who Took Toby Rinaldi, a nonseries book,
was very good. It is suspense without humor and might be able
to sneak in as hard boiled. Mark
