Ted Lewis's GBH is quite good, perhaps equal to his Get
Carter (AKA Jack's Return Home or something close to that).
It's about a London gangster holed up in his hideaway near a
beach town. The story cuts back and forth between the story
of his rise and fall and his waiting for his enemies to come
after him to finish the fall. On top of this, the main
character's mind begins to show serious strain.
