I'm back from the west coast. Unfortunately, my brother in
law had planned something for Sunday afternoon so I missed
the Hammett tour, but I did manage to get to Bush and
Stockton in San Francisco and went to all the mystery book
stores that had been suggested. I met fellow list members
Erick Anderson and Doug Levin in Portland. Thanks again for
the lunch, guys! Portland sems to have a wealth of used book
stores. There are others than Powell's I would have missed
seeing all the vintage pbs that are upstairs in Camerons if
Doug and Erick hadn't told me about it as they don't
publicize it at all.
I purchased several copies of sf favorites from the '50's and
60's to replace mine that are crumbling and lot of newer
books, but here are only the books of interest to this list
that are older than ten years:
HALL - Quiller LOCHTE - Sleeping Dog MARLOWE - Operation
Breakthrough MARLOWE - Operation Deathmaker PETIEVICH -
One-Shot Deal SANDFORD - Rules of Prey WHITFIELD - Green Ice
WILLIAMS - Dead Calm
Which one should I read first? Mark
