Actually, there is a sort-of adaptation of FAST ONE filmed in
the 1930's - I think it may have been called GAMBLING SHIP.
The script, IIRC, was written by Cain (AKA Ruric) & it
starred Cary Grant as Kells. Aside from the main character,
Kells, & his floating casino, there is no similarity to
FAST ONE whatsoever. It's a fairly typical early Cary Grant
film - romantic comedy!You couldn't imagine a less likely
adaptation of one of the most hardboiled & noir books
ever written.
