On the contrary: the majority of the reading public *loves*
clich鳮 Look at the best-seller list. The clich頩s effective,
as is bad writing in general. Some time ago I became
interested in the best-seller and even read some by the likes
of Belva Plain and Nora Roberts. They are crawling with
clich鳬 not just phrases but situations, characters, and so
on. They are so predictable. The public loves them.
I don't think any of the authors discussed here has ever
stooped so low. But then, on rara-avis we only discuss very
good and better writers.
