That book is DEATH ON THE CHEAP & it is an indispensable
addition to anyone's library if they are fan(atics) of film
noir - it fills in a gap left by the several other excellent
volumes on film noir by covering films that have been almost
completely ignored by the other books. It is published by Da
Capo, who were also responsible for HARDBOILED AMERICA by
Geoffrey O'Brien, IIRC, another indispensable book,
IMO.
