hi everybody!
i've been looking at some literary criticism in the last few
days and have come across the phrase "death of the author" a
few times. after seeing the context a couple times, i got the
idea that it did not mean that literally, but instead
referred to a type of literary analysis where the critic
doesn't give a damn what the author says they had in
mind.
is anybody else familiar with the phrase being used like
that, or am i way off base here?
thanks, miker
