Roughly in order - and not particularly exciting I shouldn't
think. Mine are pretty much based on what I like - the rest
of you can deal with what should <actually> be on the
list... ;-)
Chandler (to me) is it. Head and shoulders above the rest.
Hammer can be enjoyable - but it really is crap. One of the
few on my list who's there just because I felt he <should
be> there. Maigret - I'm really not convinced he's
hardboiled - but he's certainly noir.
