My Thanks to Richard Moore for letting us know of the death
of R.V. Cassill.
In his notification he wrote:

I agree. I just checked, the title of the book I read was
"Writing Fiction" perhaps a different book.
This book was one of those I wore out--then bought again. It
is a shame that later edition did not include his excellent
chapter on the novel.
