Cats are by their nature hardboiled. People who write & read books about cats, I would venture, are not.And I suspect the books aren't but to be honest I wouldn't know from first hand evidence, as I'm as likely to read a book about cats as I am to read one about Ol' Yeller. (Having written that, I immediately remembered that J D MacDonald wrote a book about cats. That will probably be the exception)
