Ed Gorman's survey NIGHTMARE TOWN is probably the most
representative I've scanned (it's on the TBR pile), but THE
BIG KNOCKOVER is valuable as well. Haven't picked up the ?LOC
volume.
There's not so much that was published that you can't collect
it all, of course. TM
-----Original Message----- From: Michael Robison [mailto:
zspider@gte.net] hello,
what is the most complete book of hammet's short stories?
actually, i'm most interested in the short stories before
_the maltese falcon_. i've found _the big knockover_ and the
library of congress's crime stories and other writings, and
nightmare town, and some others listed at amazon.
i'm confused.
