Not to embarrass him, but James Reasoner has also written hb westerns as well as contemporaries...and hb contemporary westerns... TM

A couple of them (Gunfire at Spanish Rock, Hellfire Hideaway) are actually by Walt Sheldon, who wrote some fairly hardboiled adventure novels for Gold Medal in the Fifties and Sixties.
