I liked them, but they were less "Men's Action" novels than
they were kind of hybrid Bond/Le Carre spy novels with a
heacy dose of Catholicism PACKAGED as "Men's Action"
novels.
One of them NUPLEX RED was one of the first "nuclear
terrorism" novels. ANother, THE MIDAS COFFIN, was a Edgar
nominee in the PBO category (Smith's third such nomination,
BTW).
