fulsome praise
In this month's Uncut(excellent uk mag, mainly music, but
with good book and film review section) there is a full page
review of both Mr Pelecanos's and Daniel Woodrell's new
books, HELL TO PAY and THE DEATH OF SWEET MISTER,
respectively, which pays both writers fulsome praise and
lauds both books to the skies. Can't wait Jane
******************** Jane,
To which edition of UNCUT are you referring? Is this the most
recent one with George Harrison on the cover? Or the special
January collector's edition with the Stones on front? Those
are the two being sold in the States right now, and,
unfortunately, both don't have the reviews you name
above.
(Although January's edition does have a glowing review of
GP's SHOEDOG.)
UNCUT is *the* best music magazine out there, with MOJO a
close second. I buy and read these two religiously. Any
American publication pales in comparison. It's not even
close. ROLLING STONE has become criminally laughable and
embarrassing. So, if any of you are interested in great
music, as well as real takes on films and books, UNCUT's
essential.
