I agree rocker-writer hyphenates are few and far between. I
find it interesting, though, that even of the few, none is
particularly hardboiled (I guess a case could be made for
Basketball Diaries as noir), even though many express a love
for that sort of literature. The only one I can even think of
is Barry Adamson's Big Bamboozled story, which was so bad I
quit after two paragraphs. Still love much of his music,
though -- that never realized collaboration with Ellroy that
John mentioned is certainly intriguing, sorry it never got
made.
