Jose : Thanks, I was actually referring to my question about
Fidel's reading habits. The more sensible question occurred
to me while typing.Your observation about the commercial
viability of crime literature versus poetry, etc I would
think would be as relevant to the rest of the world as well
as Cuba.Thank you for your enlightening reply, especially the
stuff concerning status of crime lit in Cuba.Off topic - I
would love to visit Cuba. Some friends of mine visited there a
few years ago & loved it.The poverty provided some
culture shock for people from my comparatively wealthy nation
(Australia) but they described the people as being incredibly
warm, friendly & down to earth. They also loved the old
50's American cars everywhere, even knowing they only existed
because of the brutal trade embargo enforced on Cuba (I
apologise for political commentary - it just seems to me the
only ones to suffer are the Cuban people.Fidel is just as
entrenched in power as he ever was or will be, I think).
Again, thanks Jose. I'm looking forward to reading your book,
"Outcast", it's been recommended by several rare birds, &
as you've found these yeggs know their onions, alright.
Rene.
