As from your other messages it seems you are lookoing for
clarification about some of the best HB/Noir novels, you will

a short list of recommended books, by authors. Exceptional
works and masterpieces are given a special mark in that list.
There is a link on the first page of the site, leading to the

Horace Mc Coy: I agree with others Avians to put "…Horses…"
on the top. It's also one of the great book of HB/Noir. (Way
above the film) However there is one other novel by Mc Coy
which is a real achievement and that I personally consider
the best of that writer after "..Horses.." : KISS TOMORROW
GOODBYE With these two works, the place of Mc Coy is just
after classics like Hammett, Chandler, Cain.
