Harstad is good, isn't he? Interesting juxtaposition of
folksy and seen-it-all sensibility that seems utterly true to
a rural mid-western cop. From a character standpoint, I enjoy
Sheriff Carl Houseman's food obsession. It ain't like
Spenser's. The guy just likes to eat. Just picked up his 3rd
installment in paperback, THE BIG THAW.
In spite of all the secondary characters however, these first
person narrative stories are clearly told from a single
protagonist's point of view.
