Brad recently mentioned Donald Hamilton's Matt Helm, a hard,
tough, counter-intelligence operative who values
professionalism above all else, sort of what the Continental
Op might be if he was a secret agent instead of a PI.
Adam Hall's Quiller always struck me as sort of a British
equivalent of Helm. Interestingly, both Hamilton and Hall
lived in the Southwest at about the same time. That probably
means nothing, but it's an interesting coincidence.
