As an academic of many years, I agree. But the university
setting is generally very harmless, very self-absorbed in a
naive way. I don't find it very interesting as a subject for
fiction (though David Lodge, for example, has done some great
work on this very subject).
And I'd better stop these generalities before they raise a
flag with our leader. I mean, what the hell! [obligatory
ontopicity token].
