Mark, I haven't read enough of the other series, but I
certainly agree with you about Travis McGee. Maybe you can
evaluate a series by examining the number of pages of a book
as time passes. If Robert Parker could write a very good book
in under 200 pages in his early books why does he need over
300 in his later ones? Don't answer. We all know the
reason..
And we all know what happened when Doyle tried to kill off
Sherlock. Maybe it's impossible. If the series is popular
enough eventually someone will extend it. Mark
