Everyone is familiar with the woman hard-boiled writers who
have become popular over the past couple of
decades--Paretsky, Grafton, etc. (I should probably say
"detective writers" here instead of
"hard-boiled" to avoid the potential debate on the h-b-ness
of the above named authors.)
Anyway, I'm interested in earlier woman h-b writers--the true
female pioneers in the field, so to speak. Any suggestions on
who I might seek out as belonging to this group?
