Macdonald's post-psychoanalysis Lew Archer books. Well, on
those points, we'll have to agree to disagree. I'm among
those who thought they got better from The Galton Case
on.
However, you add:

Who's Holding? I don't know that one.

ps -- By the way, I agree with you on Chandler and Himes and
the best of Thompson (although I understand there are some
stinkers by him; I've only read five or six of his best
known).
