MrT, "The Big Heat" was by William P. McGivern. An okay read.
A little too much "the world is a junkyard but we all have to
survive" kind of stuff, but it was okay. I actually liked the
movie better. I couldn't get into McGivern's "Rogue Cop"
either, where a crooked cop goes after the gangsters that
killed his brother (that he just happened to work for).
Sounds good on the back flap, but again there was too much
moping around. It wasn't what I expected, either, and the way
it turned out couldn't make up for that.
