You are SO right. I'm watching The Awful Truth later this week, and anticipating it greatly. Bogie's book dealer in The Big Sleep is one of the high points of that movie, but wouldn't Grant have had fun with that scene?

Juri also commented on the Anthony Mann westerns. I recently watched He Walks By Night, which Mann at least co-directed, but didn't receive credit. Another teriffic, underrated noir.
