RARA-AVIS: Candyland

I've just finished reading Candyland which is the latest novel in England by Evan Hunter/Ed McBain and is literally by both of them.

The first half is by Hunter and concentrates on an architect from LA who is in New York, pursuing his hobby which is sex. This leads him to an experience in a brothel which links to part II.

This is a police procedural around the death of one of the hookers from the same brothel in which the architect is one of the suspects. It has quite a good twist.

Candyland is a good, quick read and I like the conceit of 'two' authors, each of whom has a separate blurb on the dust jacket and a separate list of his books. These are on two opposite pages and make an impressive body of work.

Can anyone think of a similar device by an author?
