RARA-AVIS: Thompson Spree

I have been on a Jim Thompson reading spree, 8 straight books. I liked
"Killer Inside Me", "The Golden Gizmo", and "The Getaway" the best of what I read.
 I think I'm ready to read someone else now, what is the list opinion of the best "noir" novel out there by any author?
