I watched COCKFIGHTER last night, and it's a good movie.
Seeing all the fighting and bloody chickens makes it pretty
clear why it lost money, though. It's been a while since I
read the book, so I couldn't tell how close they were. I'll
reread it, and COCKFIGHTER JOURNAL too, which was very
entertaining. One thing that surprised me was how large
Charles Willeford's part was. I'd thought it was just a
couple of lines, but he's in several scenes throughout the
movie and has lots of lines. He does a great job. This is
probably the only place most of us will ever be able to hear
his voice, so if you're a fan, seek it out.
