This isn't really what you're looking for and you probably
already know about them, but Ace Atkins has written two
novels involving the blues. But they're set in contemporary
times about a white "blues tracker." However, the stories he
tracks are vintage tales of blues musicians. For instance,
the first book, Crossroad Blues, revolves around the death of
Robert Johnson. The second involves the Stagger Lee myth
having followed blues musicians from the Delta to
Chicago.
