RARA-AVIS: William Faulkner and Vian?

I maybe wrong, but I think William Faulkner's writing was a big influence on Boris Vian's 'I Spit on Your Graves.' I know Faulkner made a big impression on young writers of the late 40's in France. I think Faulkner's work was just translated into French at that period of time.
