Hello to everybody.
"The Case of the Velvet Claws", the first Perry Mason novel,
is by far the most hardboiled of all the Mason novels - if
memory serves me right, there's no courtroom scenes in it,
and Mason is quite a curious mix of a private detective and a
tough guy. It looks like ESG hadn't still decided what to
make of him. From the second Mason novel ("Lucky Legs", if
I'm correct), things had changed quite a bit.
