Hubbard has a crime story in the May issue of the pulp
reprint magazine, High Adventure. (www.adventurehouse.com).
It's not a detective story. It's a police v. gang story. So,
lots of bullets and very little detection. I guess for
detection, there's always the other story reprinted in the
magazine: The Phantom Detective in Murder City. ;-)
Unfortunately, I heard there was a rule against rich playboy
detectives with masks being hardboiled.
