R.e. Hugh Cave - I'd sure pick him as a "pulp icon" - any day
of the week. Stacked up against his contemporaries of that
era, his material had a freshness and vitality that few
managed. And none that I'm aware of were able to sustain
those qualities throughout such a long and prolific career as
his. I'm not a betting man - but I bet if you were to look up
"pulp icon" in the dictionary, you'd find a well-deserved
picture of Hugh Cave.
