Yes, and the Willeford piece is written by Jesse Sublett,
author of the Martin Fender mystery series, screenwriter, and
all-around good guy who's recently survived a momentous
struggle with cancer. He also was a member of the
semi-legendary punk band The Skunks. Never mind that Jesse
and I get together in Austin for chicken fried steak pretty
regularly, the WOMAN CHASER piece in the NYT is one of the
most astute Willeford things I've read recently.

Subject: RARA-AVIS: NY Times Willeford Article and Crider's
Book
There's an article on the Woman Chaser film in today's NY
Times. It's online at
http://www.nytimes.com/library/film/061800woman-film.html
It's free-you just have to register.
Someone posted word on Elmore Leonard's new book. My eye
caught the Publishers Weekly notice on our own Bill Crider's
new book--June or July publication date, I think. An online
toast and congrats to Mr. Crider. Doug 3
