Saw the original back in the 70's when it first came out,
and, if I haven't gone totally senile, it was a good mystery.
Richard Roundtree did an excellent job of making Shaft a real
person, unlike the horde of blacksploitation films that
followed. Is the new version any good? I realize that it is
not out in general release yet, but I was wondering if anyone
in the group had seen it and could make a recommendation.
Would like to have some detective work in it. A bit tired of
heros who shoot their way to a solution.
