Film critic David Thomson writes in today's NY Times about
Robert Altman's films, and focuses a good chunk on the
much-maligned Chandler-based pic 'The Long Goodbye,' which he
hails as a neglected classic. I don't particularly agree with
him, but it's an interesting read nevertheless. The entire
