H.S. Bhabra, a minor figure on the Canadian literary scene
who'd been having trouble writing and was depressed, threw
himself off Toronto's Bloor Street Viaduct last week, it
seems because of just that. I only mention it because the
piece on him in the Globe and Mail mentioned he'd won the
Raymond Chandler Award for his first novel. I've never heard
of this before, and a search on the web only turns up what
seems to be an Italian firm award. Does anyone know anything
more about it?
