Weegee's photos were used on the covers of early No Exit
Press books
(reprints of Latimer, Burnett, Whitfield, Brown, Paul Cain
etc). Looked real nice.
Weegee had a book of photos, The Naked City. A film producer
bought the title to use for the film (directed by Jules
Dassin), and later the TV series.
Stanley Kubrick (ex-feature photographer) was a big Weegee
fan and had him visit the set of Dr Strangelove. Peter
Sellers loved Weegee's accent and used it as the basis for
his portrayal of Dr Strangelove.
