It might well be close to perfect, though, and it's my
favorite of the series. I've read them in order, and I think
it's great work, with characters we can get emotionally
invested in. They grow and change, so this isn't your
standard "PI works the case and that's that."
Not that they're too long, as I think they're just right, but
I have to agree with the comment on the ending, as I see this
sort of thing in all the books, this "dancing fast til the
music ends" sort of summary or epilogue. The only blemish.
And that's okay: if there's one problem, fine. It's
accumulating writing problems that get me down.
