Of course, there's the opposite extreme, where they just put
statements in quotation marks and never identify who's
speaking. Unless there's something in the text that gives it
away, I sometimes find myself counting lines of dialog to
find out who's talking. Especially if someone says, "That's
right. I killed him." I think I'd rather they hissed or
chortled or interjected or whatever.
