Truffaut's classic interview book is a great place to
start.
As for literary sources to Hitchcock's movies, I think the
most fascinating is one that was never filmed. It says in
Truffaut's book that right after "Family Plot", Hitchcock
considered filming Elmore Leonard's _Unknown Man No. 89_ but
finally scrapped the idea. Hitchcock was of course way past
his prime then, but the idea of him doing Leonard is still
fascinating.
