I just finished Bill Pronzini's _Illusions_, in which the
Nameless Detective simultaneously investigates two
"locked-room" mysteries, including the death of his former
partner. It's a sad, understated story, very well told;
strangely, it reminded me of K.C. Constantine's early novels.
Not so strangely, it reminded me of Thomas B. Dewey's "Mac"
series. It's a quick read and an honest book. Published by
Walker.
Regards,
mt
