I strongly endorse Jim's opinion. _Pork City_ is a terrific
historical hardboiled novel. Forty or fifty pages into it, I
felt I was right there, among Capone and the violent types of
that era. The novel is from 1988.
I would also like to add my voice of lament over the death of
Browne, a master of crime fiction.
