I read the book some seven years ago, but I just can't
remember any fractured time storytelling. Maybe it's due to
crap translation, but on the other hand I can't imagine some
hack translator going through the novel and rearranging
it.
And as for the Japanese hard boiled films, has anyone seen
Kon Ichikawa's film about the taxi driver who gets mixed up
in criminal activities? I don't remember the name, but the
film was made in the mid-60's.
