This thread reminds me that Chandler once wrote Gardner about
how he had rewritten one of his stories from Action
Detective, rewritten it over and over , comparing it each
time with the original, to learn Gardner's technique. Anyone
know what the Gardner story was? Figure it had to be
published before 1933, when "Blackmailers Don't Shoot" first
appeared.
