As I recall, one recent case involved an officer who
moonlighted as security at a Chinese restaurant (money needed
to compensate for that 14-16K salary). She was the insider on
a heist that left several restaurant workers dead. The jury
found her guilty in under an hour, and she has been sentenced
to death (not yet executed, so far as I know). I guess New
Orleans is a hardboiled city.
