A pretty darn good locked-room p.i. tale is Henry Kane's TOO
FRENCH AND TOO
DEADLY. Kane isn't entirely hardboiled, though he's close
enough. And Bill
Pronzini wrote a locked-room novel in the Nameless series. The
name of it
escapes me at the moment.
