RARA-AVIS: I've noticed

this list's startling hatred of Robert Parker, and I was
wondering the
roots of it... His recent works (Small Vices and Night Passage)
have been
above average, and while some of his middle works did suffer,
he is still
one of the best authors and developers of characters out
there... I'm
curious... did the hatred stir when he finished poodle
springs??? I
understand that marlowe and chandler are like Gods, but come on
cut the
guy some slack... I think Spenser is the most well rounded
private dick
out there and yet still is hard-boiled...
